About Troy Ward

Hi, my name is Troy Ward and I'm the owner and photographer at Photos by GI. I am a twelve year veteran of the United States Army and still on active duty. I began taking pictures several years ago when my wife wanted me to find a hobby. I quickly fell in love with photography and haven't looked back.

I am a portrait photographer who focuses primarily on fashion and glamour type shots but I also love working with couples and seniors. I generally prefer to shoot on location (Colorado has so many great locations to shoot, why wouldn't you use them?) but have no problem working in the studio as well. I do all photo retouching myself using Adobe Photoshop CS5, but normally like to leave my photos looking as close to real life as I can to show the true you.

A few other random facts about myself: I've been married to my wife for 7 great years. We have a 3 year old little girl and our second child is due in June of 2012. We moved here to Colorado Springs about 2 years ago and are dreading the day that the Army tells us to leave. I'm from San Diego, CA originally and a huge Chargers fan. Aside from photography, I am a huge computer nerd and love to read.
